Argyle, the defending regional champions, make their move up to 5A and the attention now turns to Canyon, who graduate another big lineup.

Seminole lose the senior leadership but return pure-scorer Londyn Shain, who moves into the point for this coming season.

Glen Rose look to be a team to beat in the eastern half of the region, with a solid group of returnees returning in a new look district, adding Graham and Mineral Well.

Sanger and Gainesville move into the region, being grouped with Burkburnett and both Wichita Falls programs in Old High and Hirschi.

Sanger lose a solid lineup but the core of the letterman return as depth will be a key plus for the Lady Indians in order for a deep playoff run.

Out west, El Paso now will claim two districts with the relegation of El Paso Austin, Bowie and Irvin, bumping the old 2-4A and 3-4A a number back in the district alignment.

The playoff picture will be interesting with new pairings with the movement of El Paso and pushing back the South Plains district as they will pair up with a tough big country district that include the Lady Tigers of Glen Rose, Brownwood and Stephenville.

Panhandle now get one district of their own with Randall coming down to 4A and the addition of Canyon West Plains to create a eight-team district.

TXHSGBB.com Pick: Glen Rose

The safe pick: Glen Rose

Early top 10

  1. Glen Rose
  2. Sanger
  3. Canyon
  4. San Elizario
  5. Randall
  6. Seminole
  7. Levelland
  8. Brownwood
  9. Decatur
  10. Lubbock Estacado

Three tough districts

6-4A

Outside of Glen Rose and Stephenville, Brownwood could steal a couple of games to claim a top-two seed in the playoff race and could be a team to watch that could make a sleeper run in the district. Graham, a traditional district power, will also be competitive as they will be rebuilding.

5-4A

The bi-district pairing of district six and five will be fun to watch, with Levelland and Estacado being the main teams to watch. Snyder could be a team that could sneak in the playoff race. Sweetwater return a solid core that could make noise in the district.

4-4A

Outside of Canyon, this district is open for the taking. West Plains makes their appearance in the district and Randall will be coming down and will be the big fish in a smaller pond. Hereford lose their luster as they graduate their standouts. Pampa could be coming in the playoff race with a solid amount of letterman coming back.
